Award winning filmmaker, Aaron Canada, joins me for a discussion about the increasing number of men and women facing sexual health challenges in the 21st Century. His film, “Let’s Talk About It,” is a short documentary that explores the prevalence of erectile dysfunction. A long time sufferer of ED, himself, Aaron wanted to make a film to get people talking about this important subject because there was little public discussion happening on the topic.
He wanted to help take some of the stigma away from having ED, and also show other men who were suffering from it that they weren’t alone. The short film was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback by filmmakers, sexual health professionals, and both men suffering from ED, and their partners, from around the world.
Further pushing the envelope to tackle a topic that is often silenced by feelings of shame, Aaron felt compelled to embark on the broader topic of sexual dysfunction of all types affecting both men and women. His currently in production feature length film “Sexual Dysfunction: A Love Story” intimately follows the stories of three young individuals met with the struggles of sexual health that are so commonplace in modern cultures. He hopes that the film will ignite an open dialog that helps those living with sexual health challenges know that they are not alone and provide an arena for identifying and creating solutions to help improve sexual and overall health and wellbeing.
